Just a little Note About Swap Packages

Hello Ladies,

We still have some packages trailing in. Has everyone received all their swaps for the past months? I am just checking to make sure. If you are mailing late be sure to let me know so that angels do not send out duplicate packages!!!

Also if anyone wants to be an "Angel" for the coming up fall swaps please let me know. We always need "Angels" and even though we hope to never have to call upon one, sometimes we do so that no one is ever left out without a package.

How fun to receive my May swap package today! I've been wanting to read The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs and appreciate Cathy for getting it for me. The black, embossed book mark has a felted backing so that it doesn't slide in the book. Isn't that a practical idea?! The mark a line book mark will be handy for marking my knitting patterns. The knitting note cards couldn't be cuter and the Chibi needles are always needed! She also sent a miniature calculator and tape measure which will be great for travelling. Thanks so much, Cathy, for making this a special day!

Summer Break

Well Ladies the swapping is now over for the summer. I hope that everyone has had a fun time here and that you will all come back in the fall to join us swapping again. I will be emailing everyone who has participated to let you know the theme and when the swap will begin in the fall.

I couldn't find the posting where I thanked my April BABEs partner so I must profusely apologize if I did not....and I am posting now. See even the hostess "goofs" up...I was sure I had posted though???? Anyways, Connie sent me a wonderful package with a Debbie Macomber book that is one of my favorite authors and matches my 1st name... of course, and a crochet book, an entire bag of goodies from Burt's Bees, chocolate, yum yum, wonderful linen and roses sachet, and a great needle holder. I loved it all thank you soooo much Connie!!! DaBookLady

Wow Pooch!!

I went to my PO box yesterday and picked up the most AWESOME BABE box from Carol aka Pooch. I'm right in the middle of packing and my camera cord is nowhere to be found, but I will post pictures. In the meantime, let me tell you about this wonderful surprise:

I knew from just looking at the box it was going to be special, because the address label had two bunches of cherries stamped on it -- my favorite design. Once I got home and wrestled with the packing tape, the first thing I see is adorable tissue paper printed with hearts and knitting needles carefully cradling several precious packages. Each article was wrapped in pink tissue paper and tied with bow made with thin black ribbon - so elegant! After fondling my new soft skein of yellow Encore yarn while reading a sweet note, I carefully started opening my bundles ... first a Mary Engelbreit cherry cell phone tote. How did she know my family just LAST NIGHT bought me a cell phone for my birthday?!@?! A spunky little magnet was attached to the outside of this package. Then I moved on to the bigger parcel .... it is a matching ME cherry zippered tote! Absolutely the thing I need to corral all my cosmetics I insist on keeping in my purse. And then, the best of all, a brand new book, Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise - I just LOVE books, and I haven't read a memoir in a long time plus this has recipes. Lastly, tucked inside the book is an inspirational magnetic bookmark.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Pooch. What a delightful treat. I've wrapped it back up, and it's going straight to my new bedroom as a reward for when I finish with the movers tomorrow.
